While earning his MD, Dr. Bose enlisted in the U.S. Army and later served in the Iraq War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star for completing one of the longest combat tours by a physician since World War II. He was also recognized as a CNN Hero for serving as the U.S. physician who treated Saddam Hussein following his capture.

His service in the Army was a humbling and transformational experience, inspiring a lifelong commitment to veteran advocacy. In 2014, he founded The Battle Continues, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to helping veterans fight their health battles beyond combat.
